fiber on them? They didn't bother. Because they knew the blood would match. Because they knew the blood on those gloves had been in the apartment, and the booties had not been in the apartment. Despite Scott Love supposedly being in a violent bloody struggle with Mulrenin for 79 minutes, so that the blood was still wet on the carpet when police arrived, the booties had no blood. Why on Earth would Scott Love plan a perfect crime with gloves and booties, and then leave the bloody gloves in his car? He wouldn’t. Scott Love said on the stand the booties were from his job in paving. He said he had a whole box of booties in his garage, which is the kind of thing a sociopath usually only throws out there if he can't be proved wrong because it's true. After they finish fresh tarmac and paint the lines or whatever, they put on the booties to keep from leaving dusty footprints before it dries, and the customer sees it. I looked this up online. What I read is that people in paving put the booties on to keep the tar on their shoes from getting in their car and on their carpet, like when they go for lunch. But either way, it makes a lot more sense that somebody would store stuff he uses for work in a bundle in two zip ties to carry in his pocket and reuse, than that he would ball up bloody gloves from a murder in two zip ties, and keep them for another murder. Or keep them together with booties that there is no way he would use in a murder, given he was walking all over Mulrenin’s apartment on camera dropping cigarette butts. Remember, police went to Mandi's house looking for the grey sweatshirt with the big “don't tread on me” and snake on the back, that Love wore in the Lofts video. But when Smolarek got there, she didn't go right to their rented room. Smolarek spent a few minutes photographing other parts of the house, where other people lived. By the time Smolarek got to Mandi's room, everything including the bed covers was thrown on the floor. Except the grey sweatshirt police came looking for was conveniently dead center in the very first photograph, right in the middle of the bed. Either a) police staged the sweatshirt to be the first thing visible through the door, or b) it was dead center first thing because it is Love's favorite sweatshirt, and it is always dead center everywhere he is. If you planned to carefully conceal your presence at a robbery using gloves and booties, would you also wear your favorite most recognizable sweatshirt, the one you wear every day and are most proud to be seen in? What about the three loose gloves not in the bundle, in the separate group that vanished or was lumped in with the others? In Lofts unit 515 photo Day 1 179, there is a fingertip from a blue glove. It is right in the midde of Mulrenin's carpet where a murder took place. The fingertip is blue against a tan carpet. It is larger than other items recovered in the same area, such as the bullet and half white pill. It is similar in size to the closet key. It is nearly as big as the used syringe, and much easier to find. It is right next to one of the three cable ties in evidence. And yet that tom-off glove fingertip is not in evidence. There were a dozen police in there for two days, all wearing blue gloves. How could they miss that blue glove fingertip right in the middle of the floor? They couldn't. A crime-scene tech like Alison Smolarek would home in on that glove tip like flies on death. She would swab it for DNA. She would wear it in a hope locket with dreams of one day finding the rest of the glove it was matched to. The reason that fingertip was insignificant to them, is they already had all three gloves, including the glove it came from, which they found in the same spot. A fingertip by itself is interesting. A fingertip next to three gloves, is an afterthought. Alison Smolarek has a strong pattern to take three focus photos of every item collected, including the cable ties on Murenin’s carpet. Here is the number of focus photos from each item collected on day l: 4 - serrated cheese knork on sofa 3 - eye glasses on floor 4 - looped cable tie #1 on floor 3 - open cable tie #2 by eye glasses 3 - duct tape at door III - 63
