but then not dispose of them? It makes the most sense police took the gloves with the blood stains out of the apartment for the same reason they vanished the sofa, and called the tear in the loveseat a bullet hole. The gloves with blood, the bloody sofa, and the bullet hole, did not fit Sprague’s narrative that Mulrenin got shot while running to the balcony. At some point Sprague decided to include pictures of the blood and tear in the sofa, and to move his story of when Mulrenin was shot to before Mulrenin was running. Sprague’s final police report says "After the shot, Mulrenin is screaming and runs to the balcony..." That narrative is not compatible with bloody gloves being found on the floor, one stuck to duct tape. There is no other explanation to not empty the bag of trash the gloves were supposedly found in, 24 minutes after they found the gloves, and 18 minutes after the gloves were first photographed. If they were finding bloody gloves in the car, they would have torn apart every single piece of trash. They would not just photograph the gloves next to the trash still in the bag. Smolarek’s cross-contamination scam from the loose gloves that were probably in the apartment, to the locked bundle that was probably in the car, is definitely a scam, and very likely contributed to Mandi getting convicted for something she didn't do. The crazy fantasy that Love went in there wearing gloves and booties like a horror-movie character, makes everything seem way more sinister than it really was. And it made it harder to believe when Mandi's lawyers said she had no part of what monster Scott Love did, but then went home with him like nothing happened. I have been to the UCF campus. I have seen how the students dress up meticulously each day, in ambitious costumes of who they want to be when they grow up. I can picture how poor Alison Smolarek struggled to get noticed, went thirsty surrounded by boys who looked at the other girls. Finally she found her way to a police department where she was the only girl surrounded by men. And once there she sought to increase her popularity, by lying, and faking evidence for them. The ugliest girl in science class finally got her revenge, on an evil stripper. And she got noticed by the boys for her skills. III - 70
